The views expressed in this public community forum are those of members of the public and, unless specifically stated, not those of MyTreatment.com. The Support Group Code of Conduct is in place to protect all users of MyTreatment.com by making sure the Support Groups are safe and fun for everyone. We're committed to providing an atmosphere in which friendly and appropriate dialogue takes place. Maintaining a positive and safe community for our members is a top priority.
If you believe any post to be in breach of our Support Group Code of Conduct, please contact us by email at general-support@mytreatment.com, by telephone at (506) 363-2233 or by facsimile at (506) 363-2234. The message will then be checked as a matter of urgency.
About Your Posts
In order to create a supportive and positive environment, there are some guidelines everyone should observe when posting on the boards. By making posts, you are agreeing to abide by the following standards:- Keep your contributions civil, tasteful and relevant. Carefully consider the accuracy, appropriateness, and phrasing of posts, claims or suggestions regarding health or personal issues. The safety of our members is our top priority. Use message boards responsibly.
- Be respectful. Unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive, or otherwise objectionable material is not acceptable.
- Be patient. Users of all ages and abilities take part in these Support Groups. Please remember that we all come from different backgrounds and are of all ages, and not all participants use English as their first language.
- Be thoughtful. Please keep your posts to the English language, and do not over-use "chat-speak" or other types of slang. Please also keep your posts to a reasonable length - about 500 words. This will keep Support Groups professional and easy to use and understand.
- Do not spam. Don't cross-post your messages to more than one discussion, or post off-topic messages.
- Do not advertise. No advertising or product promotion is permitted. If you wish to advertise a product or service on MyTreatment.com, please contact us by email at general-advertising@mytreatment.com or by telephone at (817) 657-0015.
- Do not lie. Impersonating someone else is unacceptable, as is making up situations that are false, offensive, vulgar, etc.
Legal Issues
- Do not identify by name or post personal information regarding patients, conditions, doctors or treatments.
- You may not post any defamatory or illegal material of any nature in MyTreatment.com Support Groups. This includes text, graphics, video, programs or audio. Posting a message with the intention of committing an illegal act is strictly prohibited. No profanity or explicit content.
- You agree to post only materials to which you have the copyright or other permission to distribute electronically. You may not violate, plagiarize, or infringe on the rights of third parties including copyright, trademark, trade secret, privacy, personal, publicity, or proprietary rights.
- Never reveal any personal information about yourself (for example: your telephone number, mobile phone number, school name, home address or email address).
- MyTreatment.com does not control or endorse the content found in these Forums and, therefore, MyTreatment.com specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the content of the Forums.
- Although MyTreatment.com is not responsible for any content in the Forums, MyTreatment.com reserves the right at all times to disclose any information necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or government request, or to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any information, posting or materials in these Forums, in whole or in part, that in MyTreatment.com's judgment, does not meet the MyTreatment Support Groups Code of Conduct.
- MyTreatment.com has a Privacy Policy and Terms of Use governing use of the website located at www.mytreatment.com. Posting content to the Forums and use of this Site are subject to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, click here to view the Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, which are incorporated into this Support Group Code of Conduct by reference, as if fully set forth herein.
Breaking the Code of Conduct
- MyTreatment.com reserves the right to take all necessary measures to protect our members from abusive or inappropriate behavior of others, including suspending a member's account and/or blocking a user name or computer address.
- If you fail to abide by the MyTreatment.com Support Groups Code of Conduct, the Webmaster will formally warn you by email. This warning may include permanent or temporary suspension of your ability to participate in the Support Groups. If, after the initial warning, you continue to breach the Code of Conduct, you will be prohibited from using the discussions for an extended period of time or permanently.
- MyTreatment.com reserves the right to delete any posting, at any time, for any reason.
